my daughter’s birthday gift

Hello folks, it’s a very nice day outside and here I am spending the day inside the house blogging.

It would be my daughter’s first birthday soon and I’ve almost forgot about it. I don’t feel like planning a birthday party so I planned to buy her an expensive gift. I was thinking of buying her a new stroller/pushchair since her current one, a bugaboo bee had been damage during our recent trip. I was so dissappointed that the baggage handlers did not pay much attention to it. It fell from the trolley and I think had been ran over as well, causing a big scratch on both sides of the chassis, a tear on the sun canopy and it had also been twisted that adjusting the handle is so difficult. I have been very happy with this pushchair. it is so light and compact that I could push it around shops and narrow doors without a problem. It is also good for shopping since I could put a lot (16kg) on the basket. My only problem with this are the breaks because sometimes it doesn’t work. I could have reported this before but again I had no time.

Anyway, on to the new pushchair, I have been looking at the Juicy couture Maclaren pushchair and I have been researching and just looking at it in the net. I thought it’s very pricey for a second pushchair although it looks really good. I thought I will not spend that amount of money without looking at the product for real. The other night, I was looking at sites who sells them and found a posh website called childrensalon. And there it was beckoning to me. The stroller that is just perfect for my baba.

The FENDI stroller. It was white with the Fendi Logo in the middle. It wasn’t tacky at all since not all of it was monogramed. I immediately rang my husband who was working on a night shift. I told him that I found the pushchair that I really want or that my baba would love;). (Earlier on he saw me having a peek at the Juicy couture stroller and he said ”stop looking at that thing just buy it”). So, I reckon he would be really supportive and indeed he was he said how much is it? I said £766.00, He said text me the website and I’ll have a look, so i did. then he said maybe we could go to the shop tomorrow. So, I said hurrryyyyy!!!

So, off we went the next day, my husband was from nights so no sleep for him. The shop is located in Kent it was a very nice area and the shop itself was full of designer goods, anything for your little angel. I could have spent the whole day there. The shop keepers were very helpful, they did not have it in the store but they had it in the warehouse and we could look at it in half an hour. So, I asked whether i could also have a look at the Juicy Couture pushchair and footmuff and she said okay. so, we went for a cuppa first then when we came back, they started unfolding it. And indeed the pushchair looks handsome. It was purewhite, the monogram looked amazing, the material was shiny and soft and suppose to be stain resistant. The frame was black. The first thing I did was lift it. It was amazingly light. The chasis is basically an aprica pushchair dressed in fendi. It was plastic and rickety. I don’t think it will hold my baba’s wieght. The juicy couture being a maclaren was so sturdy but heavier. It looked very nice although my husband did not like it since it was too loud. I explained to him that that’s juicy couture design but wouldn’t hear of it. Altough I was very partial to the fendi stroller I thought it was far too expensive but in the end we bought it. It will be shipped this week and I’ll probably get it on Monday. I can’t wait….

On reflection I think it was a bad decision and I would probably regret it. Especially, since this was for my daughter’s first birthday. Now, her birthday party is forfieted in favour of a fendi pushchair, maybe if she can talk she will tell me I made the right choice. However, she is getting a cake, two outfits from ralph lauren and three new dummies from nordic kids.

Anyone who owns the fendi stroller out there, could you please give me an insight about it. Is it worth the hefty price tag???
